Victoria, the capital of the Seychelles, is the smallest capital on Earth. It is located on Mahé Island. The ideal climate, excellent beaches and remarkable nature with unique flora and fauna of the Seychelles attract many tourists, divers and sport fishermen. Victoria is the only city on the islands, and more than one third of the country’s population lives there. Victoria’s main street begins at the Port of Victoria, whose total warehouse area exceeds 4500 sq. m. All the city’s main buildings are located in Victoria: the National Library, government buildings, the National Museum and the bank. Seychelles International Airport is one of the best in the Indian Ocean. In addition to the national airline, the services of several competing air carriers are available. The official languages are English, French and Creole.

Seychelles offshore: what changed in 2026

For owners and buyers of Seychelles IBCs, an important change is the transition to a more open corporate information regime. The new International Business Companies (Amendment) Bill provides for mandatory indication of the nominee status of directors and disclosure of the details of the person on whose instructions the nominee director acts.

  • by 31 December 2026 — information on nominee structures must be brought into compliance with the new requirements;
  • from 1 January 2027 — information on serving directors, including name and date of appointment, must become available through a public register;
  • the deadline for appointing the first director of new companies is reduced to 30 days.

For businesses that chose the Seychelles primarily because of the closed corporate register, this is a fundamental change in the model. As an alternative, it is possible to consider redomiciliation of an existing Seychelles company to the Marshall Islands while retaining the name, corporate history and existing contracts, or purchasing a new ready-made company in the Marshall Islands.
