What is a merchant account? Do you not know the answer to this question? Then online business may not yet be for you. A better question would be: what are PCI DSS and 3D Secure? There are many offers to help connect a merchant account, but none of the companies making these offers has a full merchant API, and sometimes they do not even have a simple payment page for receiving payments. At the same time, they usually ask thousands of questions, and in most cases the result is not guaranteed. Here is one example we found online.
"What is required to connect a Merchant Account?" So, one Moscow company that connects merchant accounts says that the following is required. Remember that we are talking about a foreign company and all questions and requirements relate to that company:
"Company XXX offers services for creating an optimal financial tool in e-commerce. After analysing your activity, our specialists can select a suitable country for company registration from the point of view of taxation and convenience of work, select a bank and assist with signing an agreement to connect Merchant-Account (An account connected to the gateway of a processing company, which makes it possible to process online payments through different payment systems, for example Visa, Mastercard and others).
"1) the existence of a legal entity.

business plan (sales forecast for 6 months and information about project promotion, 1-2 pages);

bank account statement (of the director or company), not older than 14 days (it is preferable to show a minimum balance of USD 2,000);

a screenshot confirming ownership of the website;

After the application is submitted, within 5 days we receive the bank's decision on opening the account. However, the bank may review the application for a longer period and request additional information and documents. "
The first question that should really be asked is: does this company have its own merchant account? The company offers merchant account connection services, but does not itself offer an online payment option using VISA | Mastercard. Why then are there no VISA | MC signs on the website?
The answer is simple: because they do not have their own merchant account :). Because VISA | Mastercard and the processing company do not yet trust this company. Therefore all they can do is complete forms in English, exactly like your secretary. This is why there are so many questions but no guarantee of a result.

Does this not happen? You are also right. Usually it does not. But you are in the right place at the right time.
